Thursday 10th October - Carymoor Environmental
10.10.24 Today we had some very exciting visitors from Carymoor who came to do a workshop with us about the 3Rs 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle'. We had lots of fun taking on the role of 'eco pirates' and took part in some activities, including rubbish sorting and looking at new objects that had been made out of recyclable materials such as, metal, plastic etc. This workshop also helped to consolidate our recent learning about materials in science. |

World Book Day - Thursday 7th March 2024
Thank you for all of your support with our World Book Day this year. The children looked fantastic in their costumes and enjoyed seeing the staff dressed up as book villains. We had a wide range of reading activities for the children to take part in as well as some wonderful book mark designs to celebrate. The money raised from our small book fayre will be going towards some author visits for the children to enjoy. A special thank you needs to go to our school Reading Rockets who helped organise and come up with some wonderful activities for everyone to enjoy. |

We have really enjoyed World Book Day. We had an assembly where Mr Rodd read out our school story. We have all been authors and it was good fun to hear how the story developed as it travelled through the classes.
Well done to all the children who decorated a spoon, there were some very creative ideas. The school council chose a winner from each class and they can be seen in the photo.

Today we all came to school wearing our uniforms for Rainbows, Brownies, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. We wore them today to celebrate ‘World Thinking Day’. This happens on 22nd February and marks the birthdays of Lord and Lady Baden Powell. This year the theme for Thinking Day is ‘Our world, Our peaceful future’.
We enjoyed sharing information about our groups.
24th January 2023 - International Day of Education
Further to her visit to Dijbouti, Amy Joynes (Somerset County Council's Head of School Improvement) and Jordan Wylie MBE (Ambassador to the charity Frontline Children) held a special assembly alongside Evie Potts-Jones (Mayor of Yeovil) to share her journey.
Amy shared pictures of the children in Dijbouti recieving their letters and pictures that we sent them and also presented us with a slideshow.
Mrs Nathan arranged a non-uniform day for the whole school to celebrate the International Day of Education where children were asked to dress in the colours of the Dijbouti flag. We managed to raise a whopping £133.66 for Frontline Children.
Mrs Nathan led an assembly about Amy Joynes (Somerset County Council's Head of School Improvement) , going to Africa to help support a brand new school that has been built in Djibouti.
The children all wrote a letter or drew a picture for Amy to take with her on her visit. She is going to come back to Primrose to share her journey and pictures of the children in Djibouti receiving their letters and pictures. We very much look forward to welcoming Amy back at Primrose to share her experiences.
Today we all took part in a 2-minute silence to mark Remembrance Day. The children all gathered in the lane and after the silence they took part in singing the song In Flanders Fields.
